Sustainability

I believe in being a good earth steward and am passionate about making the best choices I can.  Starting a buisness has offered a new round of challenges in staying sustainable as well as ethical.

I am currently replacing the paints in my pallette with Natural Earth Paints.  These are pure, non-toxic earth pigments that I mix together myself.  I use vegan paper, reusing when ever possible and recycling when It's not.  My paints are biologically inert, essentially rocks and minerals.with water, gum arabic, vegetable glycerine, and, of course, water.

My cards are printed in small batches and packaged with a paper belly band, to eliminate plastic.

My apparel, accessories and home goods are manufactured locally in Montreal at Art of Where They handle everything from the printing, sewing and quality control in house. Their knit fabrics are manufactured in Montreal.  Employees are paid fair wages and work regular hours. Items are made individually, upon order, so there is little waste compared to mass production. Their paper waste is recycled in the city and excess clothing items or inperfect garments are donated to innercity shelters.

They are not perfect, none of us are, but they are the best solution that I have found so far.
